What To Expect

Championship Event Weekend

The Trifecta is the ultimate test for Spartan athletes who must complete a 5K, 10K, and 21K OCR race in a single year to gain status.

Eligible Spartan racers will come and compete among the mountains and ancient olive groves of Spartan’s spiritual home in Sparta, Greece, for the chance to earn their place in Spartan history.

This world championship event is dedicated to the Spartan Trifecta, one of the most coveted Spartan achievements. Each year Trifecta Tribe members from around the world gather in Sparta, Greece, a city rooted in Spartan history, for three days of unforgettable racing and celebrations.

How To Qualify

Age Group and Open – No qualification

Elite – Complete a Trifecta in the Elite heat either this year or last year. This includes Trifectas in the 2025 Elite heat or at the Trifecta World Championship.

The nearest major airport is Athens International Airport (ATH), from which you would then take a bus or rent a car; Kalamata International Airport (KLX) is closer geographically, but usually requires a bus or car transfer that takes around 3 hours.

The main event

A three-day race weekend where each day is dedicated to one event. You'll kick things off with the Sprint 5K on Friday, keep pushing hard with the Super 10K on Saturday, and then tackle the Beast 21K, giving your all on Sunday.

Beyond its glorious past, Sparta is full of surprises. Discover a vibrant city with a rich history, imposing landscapes, and incredibly unique attractions. You'll run past the tomb of Menelaus, cross the legendary waters of Evrotas, and finish before the powerful statue of King Leonidas.
